Members of newly inaugurated committee on participation of Athletics Federation of Nigeria at Doha 2019 Games pledge to be impartial and dispassionate

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare had Monday inaugurated a review committee to appraise the causes and factors responsible for Nigeria’s poor performance at the World Athletics Championship in Doha Qatar, with a call to members of the newly inaugurated committee to concentrate on facts and figures.

Responding on behalf of members of the committee after the inauguration, the committee’s chairman, Prof. Ken Angwueje thanked the Minister for the confidence reposed on members of the committee and promised not to let Nigerians down. 

He said, “we are well aware of the importance Nigerians attach to sports and we also know that Athletics is ranked high amongst the sports Nigerians are most passionate about. As the permanent secretary has said, this is not an inquisition. It’s more like a fact finding mission”.

“We make a solemn promise to be impartial, dispassionate and diligent in carrying out this exercise. Once again,  we thank the honourable Minister for this rare privilege to serve the country”, he concluded. 
Members of the committee include; Prof. Ken Angwueje (chairman), Dr. Umar Bindir, Mr. Rotimi Obajimi, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, Dr. Dare Esan, Amb. Mary Onyali, Chief Falilat Ogunkoya and Mrs. Maria Wophill as Secretary.
